WONDERLAND 43

Mona Pendleton | Wednesday, December 31, 2014 @ 3:45 PM | , , ,

Hi there! I wanted to take a moment to thank all who visit my blog and who take the time to leave sweet comments over the past year! It means so much to me and is greatly appreciated. I hope I am able to inspire you throughout 2015.

It's been cold and raining here in Phoenix on and off all day which made for the perfect weather to create! I scrapped a layout featuring a photo of Scott, Connor, Meredith and myself that was taken years ago while we were on a ski vacation.
To create this page, I applied a light coat of Gesso to a pretty piece of patterned paper from the Tim Holtz Wallflower collection. Once dry, I adhered a variety of die cuts that were made using the following Sizzix Tim Holtz dies: Courtyard Frameworks, Snowflake and Stacked Snowflakes:
I added lots of color using the following Tim Holtz products: tumbled glass Spray Stain, salty ocean and broken china Distress Stains:
For the title, I applied a Tim Holtz rub on:
For a few final touches, I applied Gesso along with the Tim Holtz Bubble stencil:
and randomly splattered Gesso:
For sketch inspiration, I joined along with the Let's Scrap Sketches sketch challenge. I combined the sketches to make a one page layout. I'm also entering this layout in the current A Vintage Journey challenge where the challenge is to create a project inspired by a poem shared on their blog ~ I was inspired to create a winter wonderland layout featuring lots of snowflakes. I'm also joining along with the Let's Get Sketchy sketch challenge where the challenge is to create a monochromatic sketch:
Many thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you have a safe, healthy and Happy New Year!

Hi there! I hope you are having a great weekend! Today I have a Finnabair inspired mixed media project to share that I made for my sweet daughter Angie. I'm joining along with the Mixed Media Place Creative Gym Exercise #3 where the challenge is to create a project featuring: WINGS
 Lots of texture and  embellishments:
In case you've missed my post in the past, Angie is a professional free-style bicyclist. I really believe her bicycle has wings! She has been named to ESPN's Top 50 action athletes:
The canvas features a variety of metal and resin trinkets including a resin angel which resembles Angie's guardian angel watching over her:
Here's Angie's flying machine:
surrounded by metal gears, cogs, and flowers, etc...
I couldn't resist a metal butterfly embellishment (Angie's my little butterfly, always flutteringd
Many thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.

thanks for everything...PTI December Blog Hop 47

Mona Pendleton | @ 8:44 AM | ,

Hi there! I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season! Today I am joining along with the PTI Blog Hop. The challenge is to incorporate both silver and gold within your project.
I made a rather clean and simple collection of thank you cards that will be sent out today thanking my friends and family for the wonderful Christmas gifts. I pulled out one of my favorite PTI stamp sets and coordinating dies ~ Pretty Peonies ~ the Anniversary set which dates back to 2012!
To create these cards, I stamped the pretty Peony and leaves using various inks on the coordinating die cuts:

The labels were stamped and embossed using gold embossing powder:
A piece of dry embossed cardstock was used to add a bit of dimension to break up all the white space:
Then all were completed with a simple ribbon bow:

For sketch inspiration, I joined along with the current MOJO Monday sketch challenge:
Many thanks for stopping by ~ happy hopping!

possibility begins with imagination 34

Hi there! Surely you are all busy during this holiday season! We celebrate Christmas in my home and this year a day early! YIKES! That means Santa comes tonight ;) Today I have a Finnabair inspired mixed media canvas to share that I made as a gift for Scott.
Lots of metal findings were used to create this project:
The background was made using an old circuit board from Scott's collection of electronic treasures, the heart is a faux metallic bead that I had on hand:
The metal plumping pipe and fittings are Prima products which I bought nearly a year ago and was saving for a rainy day:

I'm entering this in the Mixed Media Place Creative Gym #3 where the theme is Wings:
Many thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you all enjoy the holidays!

Mona Pendleton | Sunday, December 21, 2014 @ 4:17 PM | , , , , , ,

Hi there! I hope you are having a great weekend! I've been struggling to get my crafty MOJO going. I've grown tired of making holiday cards for now. I have managed to hoard various paints, inks, textures pastes, etc..., all waiting to be used so I opted to create a layout. The 12 x 12 space allows so much more room to be creative than the standard A2 size card.
I joined along with the current 7 Dots Studio challenge where the theme is The Holiday spirit
I scrapped a layout of my sweet dog Griffin all dressed up in his Santa outfit. If that doesn't demonstrate holiday spirit ~ then I'm not sure what does.

I used a variety of beautiful papers from the 7 Dots Studio Cold Country and Thoughts Keeper collections:
I added lots of ink and texture using the Tattered Lace stencil which was designed by my sweet blogging friend Kasia:
The title was die cut using a Tim Holtz Sizzix die:
For sketch inspiration, I joined along with the current Creative Scrappers sketch challenge and I'm also linking to the Artist Trading Post challenge where the theme is Let's Celebrate (we're celebrating the holiday spirit in my home :)
Many thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you have a great day / evening!
Be Sweet ;)
