Mona Pendleton | Friday, August 30, 2013 @ 9:00 PM | , , , , , , , ,

Hello dear stamping friends! Welcome to Day 4 of the MFT September Teasers! The new products will be available on Tuesday, September 3rd at 10 PM Eastern in the MFT Boutique. Be sure to hop over to the MFT Blog for a list of today's participating designers along with the amazing prize info!

Today I have a layout to share featuring MPD Contemporary Roses, the coordinating Die-namics MPD Contemporary Roses, MPD Winged Beauties, Die-namics Winged Beauties and the MPD Scallops Stencil along with many other fab MFT products. I scrapped a photo of Meredith, Connor and I that was taken while we were visiting the San Diego Zoo recently.
To create this layout, I started with a piece of paper that I made using acrylic paints and the Gelli Arts printing plate then using the Scallops Stencil, I added lots of texture and design. Once dry, I sprayed using various colored inks / mists and randomly doodled around a few of the scallops. I embellished using lots of flowers including a trio of Cotton Candy stamped larger Contemporary Roses and a duo of silver embossed smaller Contemporary Roses as well as Jellybean Green stamped leaves.
I couldn't help adding several silver embossed stamped / die cut butterflies that were made using MPD Winged Beauties and Die-namics MPD Winged Beauties
Amongst the Contemporary Roses are a variety of rolled roses and Fancy die cut flourishes.
Thank you very much for taking the time to stop by today ~ I hope you enjoyed my layout.
Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog to see what the rest of the team has created. You'll also read about some HUGE prizes being given away this week during Teaser Time that you won't want to miss! I'll be back tomorrow with more to share for Day 5. Hope to see you then!

Well today, I'm super excited to introduce you to one of my latest die sets, as well as 1 of 4 stencil designs that are also included in this month's release!
Die-namics Fancy Butterflies
and the Houndstooth Stencil
I made a greeting card featuring one of the beautiful die cut butterflies made using Die-namics Fancy Butterflies. To make this card I used various painted paper from my stash that was made using acrylic paints and the Gelli Arts printing plate. I then die cut the two square pieces as well as the sentiment tab using several Die-namics Blueprints 7 dies. For added texture and design, I used the Houndstooth stencil with some molding paste to the smaller layer then sprayed with various inks / mists.
I finished the card with a layered die cut butterfly which I applied a coat of embossing enamel to then topped with a mini rolled rose
Thank you for taking the time to visit ~ I hope you liked my card.

Today I'm very excited to introduce you to TWO of my newest stamp sets, coordinating dies as well as 2 of 4 stencil designs that are included in this month's release!
Winged Beauties stamp set:
Die-namics Winged Beauties which coordinates with Winged Beauties flawlessly:
Contemporary Roses stamp set:
Die-namics Contemporary Roses which coordinates with Contemporary Roses flawlessly:
the Winged Beauties stencil:

and the Checkerboard stencil:
First up is a layout featuring a photo of Meredith saddling up.
This layout features lots of texture and layers. To begin for added texture and design, I added three beautiful stenciled butterflies to the page using the Winged Beauties stencil
as well as the Checkerboard stencil. For a little contrast, I stamped the checkerboard pattern from MPD Distressed Background Blocks using permanent black ink. I added a splashes of colors using various inks and sprays. Once the background was dry, I adhered the photo on top of a die cut piece made using a Die-namics Mini Album Torn Notebook STAX die then I embellished with a pretty stamped / die cut razzle berry butterfly made using Winged Beauties and the coordinating die from Die-namics Winged Beauties. I stamped one of the many sentiments from Winged Beauties using Steel Grey ink on a die cut made using a Die-namics Mini Album Fancy Ticket STAX die.
I added a couple stamped / die cut Cotton Candy Contemporary Roses along with Limeade stamped / die cut leaves all made using Contemporary Roses and Die-namics Contemporary Roses.
To show you the versatility of all of these products, I also made a greeting card featuring another gorgeous butterfly from Winged Beauties which was stamped using the pretty Cotton Candy ink.
Like the layout, the cards background was also made using the Checkerboard stencil and the stamped checkerboard pattern from MPD Distressed Background Blocks

Thanks so much for visiting ~ I hope you enjoyed my projects.

Dabbling with Dots 39

Mona Pendleton | @ 3:01 AM | , , ,

Hi there! Today I am here sharing my project for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge where the theme is all about "dots". I have a step by step tutorial that may be found on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog on how I made the embossed foil dot flowers that are on the wall hanging shown below. I would be thrilled if you checked it out for yourself ~ Click HERE :)
To make this project, I layered a few die cut pieces then added lots of texture and color.
Once the background was dry, I embellished with die cut embossed foil flowers ~ tutorial shown HERE
I also added a die cut bird and birdcage. I heat embossed the birdcage using embossing enamel and gave the bird a coat of Ranger Rock Candy for a crackled appearance:
Thanks so much for visiting ~ I hope you join in the fun! Please be sure to stop by the Simon Says Monday Challenge blog to see all the amazing DT inspiration!

Road Trip 30

Mona Pendleton | Tuesday, August 27, 2013 @ 5:33 PM | , , , , , , ,

Hi there! I was thrilled to have been relieved of Jury Duty yesterday :) It's like clock work for me, every two years to the day I receive that little "love note" in the mail telling me it's my time to serve. According to the latest census bureau information, Phoenix, AZ ranks 6th in the nation for highest population ~ I find it hard to believe that the other millions of people served within that 2 year period?! Am I the only one who doesn't like to serve on a jury? Either way, I'm happy I didn't get stuck on a jury this time like 2 years prior.

I feel like I am all over the spectrum with my creating ~ I love to make all sorts of projects, love to try new techniques and play with a variety of products. I don't even know what my style is, sort of depends on my mood and what I'm making the project for. Are you the same way or do you have a clear cut style? I think one thing that I'm quite sure about is that I do love lots of layers and fluff! I pay the price for this at the post office when I mail a greeting card because even one little button jacks up the price.

Today I have a layout to share featuring lots of layers and embellishments. I scrapped a photo of Connor and Meredith that was taken years ago when we took a road trip to Southern California and spent the day on the Santa Monica Pier.
I combined several flowers with a few metal trinkets, including a metal rose and heart shaped lock.
Couldn't have a lock with a key right? :)
For added interest, I randomly stamped the polka dot image from Distressed Background Blocks and the gears image from Collage Backgrounds then layered a few metal gears and a fancy butterfly on top.
I pulled out my vintage typewriter and used it to type my journaling on the die cut tag that was made using Die-namics Tag, You're It die which I topped it off with a Sno Cone button and hemp bow
I was inspired to make this layout for the CSIS365 challenge:
The Scheme: Use all 5 colors: (done)
The Evidence: Use at least 2 clues:
Metal (metal trinkets), Circles (gears and polka dot stamp)
The Testimony: Tuck your story into something
Journaled on a tag and stuck it in a die cut pocket

Thank you for stopping by ~ I hope you are inspired to create.
Be Sweet ;)
