Cherish...October OUAS 43

Mona Pendleton | Sunday, September 30, 2012 @ 8:54 PM | , , , ,

Hi there! Hope you are off to a great start of a new week! I'm here with a layout to share for the monthly Once Upon A Sketch Challenge. I created a layout featuring my dear son Jerry and his sweet girlfriend April.

For the title, I stamped the beautiful sentiment from MFT Inspired By Love on a die cut piece that was made using a die from Die-namics Fishtail Flags STAX
I combined pretty patterned paper from the Webster's Pages Park Drive collection along with lots of homegrown, hand rolled, die cut flowers ;) I put my Die-namics Plentiful Petals, Die-namics Large Royal Rose, Die-namics Mini Royal Roses, Die-namics Royal Rose to work.
I stamped a pretty butterfly from Inspired by Butterflies on a coordinating die cut then added a coat of glitter for a little shimmery goodness:
I finished it off with a stamped pearl from MFT Pearls of Wisdom:
Shown below is the October sketch and quote of inspiration:

Sweet & Sassy...CR84FN64 45

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, September 29, 2012 @ 8:55 PM | , , ,

Hello there sweet blogging friends! Thanks so much for stopping by today ~ I hope you like what you see and maybe feel inspired to create :) Today I'm sharing a layout that I made for the all new CR84FN64 Color Challenge! Thanks to all who joined along with CR84FN63 ~ so many pretty projects in the gallery and thanks to all who are interested in the DT call! Lots of awesome talent out there in blog land!

For nearly the next two weeks we will be playing with the pretty color combination shown below ~ photos courtesy of magnoliarouge.com. Hope you are able to join along with the fun!
I created a layout featuring sweet Meredith :) The beautiful butterflies are from MFT Inspired By Butterflies and were stamped on the coordinating die. You are probably tired of seeing these butterflies but they are truly gorgeous and I LOVE that the stamp set has coordinating dies :) I fancied up the die cut border that was made using a die from Die-namics Triple Scallop Borders with little liquid Perfect pearls.
For the title, I stamped the fun sentiment from MFT Sassy & Sweet on a die cut that was made using Die-namics Sweet Stack Labels. For a little added texture, I dry embossed the bottom label that was made using MFT Sno Cone cardstock.
As usual, this layout is full of handmade flower embellishments that were made using the following Die-namics dies: Die-namics MINI Rolled Roses, Die-namics Large Royal Rose, Die-namics Mini Royal Roses, and Die-namics Royal Rose. The flourishes were made using both Die-namics Leafy Flourish and Die-namics Large Leafy Flourish.
For sketch inspiration, I joined along with Creative Scrappers:

A mixed media Snow Princess... 38

Mona Pendleton | Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 10:30 PM | , , , ,

Hi there! I hope you are all having a terrific weekend! I'm so excited to share a fun project I made using products from the new Pink Paislee City Sidewalks collection that will soon be hitting the store shelves! I combined these fun products with MFT stamps and a Die-namics die to create a mixed media canvas which I am calling my Snow Princess ;) I combined techniques that I learned from both Julie Nutting and Christy Tomlinson.
Her fancy belt/sash was made using pretty pieces from the City Sidewalks Snowflakes Chipboard pack, her dress was made using fun City Sidewalks patterned paper along with City Sidewalks Collage Sheets.
To create the title, I combined shimmery letters from the Pink Paislee Portfolio Alphabet Stickers pack and I stamped the Princess sentiment from MFT Sassy and Sweet stamp set on a die cut piece made using Die-namics Sweet Stack Labels. I randomly stamped the background with snowflakes from DC Christmas Ornaments and text from Die-namics First Class Friend and Stamp Set.
All the beautiful chipboard snowflakes are from the City Sidewalks Snowflakes Chipboard pack with some drops of Perfect Pearls:
In case you were curious how I started this project I took a few photos sharing my creative process:

First I randomly adhered torn pieces from City Sidewalks Collage Sheets to the canvas:
Then I added lots of layers of paint and heidi swapp Tinsel Color shine:
Then I was ready to adhere my Snow Princess:
Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you have a great weekend! I'll see you Sunday, Midnight Eastern with an all new CR84FN!

A fancy mixed media witch! 43

Mona Pendleton | Thursday, September 27, 2012 @ 8:47 PM | , , , , ,

Hi there! So happy the weekend is here! I have a fun Halloween mixed media canvas project to share. I combined various MFT stamps, felt, Die-namics dies, a few embellishments from Pink Paislee's Vintage Vogue collection, fun Halloween paper from Webster's Pages Once Upon A Halloween collection, paints, inks, stencils, etc... and came up with what I am referring to is my fancy Halloween mixed media witch :) I combined techniques that I learned from both Julie Nutting and Christy Tomlinson.
I cut the owl from a piece of Webster's Pages paper and perched him on a die cut branch that was made using Die-namics Branch with Leaves. I randomly stamped the smaller diamond pattern from MFT Distressed Diamonds (LJD).
I am so proud of her hat because I drew this by hand then used some of my favorite products to fancy it up ;) The rolled roses were made using Die-namics MINI Rolled Roses along with Gumdrop Green felt which are layered on top of a flourish made using Die-namics Fancy Flourish. The purple jewel at the tip of her hat is from the Pink Paislee Vintage Vogue collection which I had in my stash for nearly a year!
I stamped the sentiment from Primitive Pumpkins (LJD) on a strip that was cut using a die from Die-namics Sentiment Strips and the shimmery spider was made using Die-namics Spider Web:
I hope you enjoyed my project as much as I enjoyed creating it :) I can't wait to show you the next one ;) Hope you have a great weekend!
Be Sweet :)

Ir-resist-able day with Pink Paislee... 44

Mona Pendleton | @ 4:00 AM | , ,

Hi there! I'm so excited to share a project that I made for my Pink Paislee DT assignment on the Pink Paislee blog featuring the beautiful and versatile Pink Paislee Artisan Collection along with several vibrant colors of the heidi swapp Color shine Spritz.
One of the MANY things I love about the new Artisan Collection is that it COMPLETELY color customizable to suit your needs! All it takes is a few pumps of heidi swapp Color shine Spritz and you instantly have a coordinated piece for your project!

I combined MANY pretty products from the Artisan Collection along with the several heidi swapp Color shine Spritz colors to create this shadow box keepsake.
Starting at the very top, is a trio of Resistable Butterflies. The delicate little flower embellishment that is on the middle butterfly is from the Wings pack of embellishments:
The first embellished panel in the upper right hand corner features Resistable - Hearts that I colored using Amethyst and Tropicana Teal Color shine spritz, a pretty Artisan Flowers embellishment and the word "love" from Words Cherish that was colored using Black Velvet Color shine spritz.
The middle panel features more Resistable - Hearts along with a sweet butterfly from the Wings pack of embellishments and the word "cherish" from the Words Cherish pack:
The last embellished panel in the lower right hand corner features a trio of beautiful blossoms from the Flowers pack along with a butterfly from Resistable Butterflies and the word  "sweet" from Words Cherish:
Each panel features a different piece of pretty patterned paper from the Artisan Collection - Resistable - 8x8 Paper Pack that was colored using heidi swapp Color shine Spritz color and pretty little Photo Corners. Also, note the decorative four corners featuring fancy embellishments from the Elements Circles pack.
Prior to spritzing and assembling, I photographed the shadow box to share with you what it looked like before adding all the pretty colors:
Thanks so much for visiting today! I hope you like my project featuring all these fun and beautiful products from the Pink Paislee Artisan Collection as well as the heidi swapp Color shine Spritz. Be sure to visit the Pink Paislee blog for further Ir-resist-able inspiration :)

Autumn... 48

Mona Pendleton | Monday, September 24, 2012 @ 12:37 AM | , ,

Hi there! Hope you all had a great weekend! I made a card in celebration of Autumn. It's not easy for me to get in a Fall festive mode quite yet because the temps are still in the 90's here in Phoenix, we're still wearing shorts and swimming in our pools. Either way, I want to celebrate :) The more I look at this card, the more the pumpkin looks red but I promise you it is not! It's a deep orange. Is it my eyes playing tricks on me because it is after Midnight or is it my computer???
To make this card, I stamped the pretty pumpkin from MFT Inspired by Autumn, colored with various Copic Markers then cut it out. I layered it on top of a doily die cut made using a die from Die-namics Dainty Doily DUO.
I rarely ever make a card without a sentiment on the front but this time I did because I didn't want to cover up the embossed design. I stamped one of the beautiful sentiments from MFT Inspired by Autumn along with the pumpkin.
For sketch inspiration, I played along with the current Unscripted Sketches challenge #177:
Hope you have a great day! Thanks so much for visiting!
Be Sweet :)

MFT Supplies used:
